Clinical coders work in the health care system and the health data they produce is used to meet national and jurisdictional reporting requirements, assist in health service planning, monitor patient safety, assist in research, and to underpin information for the hospital funding models. Entry level clinical coders are responsible for the coding of moderately complex medical records.
